What to do in Paris

What to do in Paris Actress Audrey Hepburn once said “Paris is always a good idea”, and she was not wrong! Paris is one of my favourite cities and this list will tell you all of my favourite things to do when you're in the city of light! 1. A trip up the The Eiffel Tower This is a complete must, it is to Paris what the Empire State is to New York. An icon of design and engineering it was originally created for the entrance to the 1889 World Fair and was never taken down afterwards! The views from all levels are stunning, and give an incredible look at the city from above. You can pinpoint all of the iconic sights from the top, and if you're lucky, you may see a proposal or two, as hundreds of people propose every week on the iconic structure. 2.A snack at the Cafe Marly Okay, this one is not that budget friendly (I learned this the hard way) but it is so worth it for the stunning views across the Musee de Louvre, and I ordered the cheapest thing on the menu ...

Top things to do In New York City

Top Things To do in New York City Hello again! Apologies for not posting in a while, I've been busy with school summer work and I was also on holiday but I'm back! For more regular updates, please follow my instagram @planetstevens In April, I went to New York with my family for the first time and, 6 months on, I thought I'd reflect on the trip by compiling a list of the things we felt were so worth doing. I loved my time there and honestly would recommend a trip to the Big Apple, it was truly special! Pictures all taken by me 1. An open top bus trip (best for beginners) This was probably the best thing to do if you've never been before simply because it really lets you see the city and its icons easily and quickly, its also good value and the one we did them from a company called Grayline (http://www.grayline.com/things-to-do/united-states/new-york-city/) and they were one of the best parts of the trip. Also, they are hop on hop off, which makes getting ...

A weekend in Brighton

A weekend in Brighton A few weeks ago, armed with my trusty weekender, I went down to the south coast to look at the University of Brighton with my Mum. We stayed at the modern Malmaison Hotel in Brighton's Marina, and walked along the beach to get into the town, as it is somewhat far out. We arrived on Satuarday morning and in an attempt to not shop, we went to the Brighton Pavillion that was created as the fashionable seaside residence of King George IV, and was finshed in 1815. I loved the visit, and would recommend! Here is a basic history of The Pavilion. John Nash, one of the most famed Regency architects was given the challenge of giving the Pavilion an oriental look by the King. It was a very fashionable architectural style and showed how well traveled you were, as it was unlike that seen in Britain at the time. The pavilion is rather different to what is seen on most other buildings in Brighton, they reflect a slightly earlier style, inspir...

A Magical Day in London

A Magical Day in London Last Sunday, my Mum, Granny and I went to London for the day. We went primarily to see the David Hockney exhibition at the Tate Britain, it had its ups and downs, but was overall quite a interesting insight into an artist i knew little about. My favourite work he produced is entitled "a bigger splash" and is really stunning in real life! A Bigger Splash  After the exhibition I had a quick look at the Turner collection there, I had copied his self portrait a few weeks earlier and to see it in real life was quite stunning! His Self Portrait After the exhibition we went shopping! *eye roll* and I purchased 2 things, one pair of shoes from Russell and Bromley and a bag from Mulberry. I will do a separate blog post on the bag, just because I feel it is worthy of its own post, and because I will explain how I could buy it. anyway...some outfits! My Outfit (featuring the most odd facial expression) C...

What I wore Skiing

What I wore Skiing  Last week I was lucky enough to go on a skiing holiday with mine and my friends family to the French ski resort of Meribel. Known as "The Heart of the Three valleys" it definitely did not disappoint with a great range of slopes for me (I'm most happy on a blue run, one up from beginner) and the town of Meribel is really lovely for a bit of shopping and eating French cuisine after a days skiing (and great people watching!!). Meribel. anyway, onto the outfit... My Mum and I  Jacket - Superdry  "Scuba Carve Hooded Jacket"  (Superdry recently launched a "snow" range, and after using it for a week, I would recommend it for intermediate skiers) Salopettes - Wed'ze (Affordable and good quality) from Decathlon. Ski Boots - Rossinol (most comfortable ski boots I've ever rented and they were super comfy!) Here are some pictures from the week.
