Fur in the fashion industry

Fur in the fashion industry: Friend or Foe? F.U.R. The three letters that, when under that syntax can completely divide followers of both fashion and animal welfare. Once a highly regarded material in fashion that epitomised luxury and comfort, it now holds controversial connotations. Personally, I find fur extremely difficult to wrap my head around. Fur has been used in clothing since, most likely the beginning of time. Cavemen are likely to have used the hides from animals that they killed to eat as protection from their artic, pre centrally heated winters. The key here is that, for them, the fur was a necessary by-product of their eating habits, they didn't kill the animals for their skins, but for the flesh. Skip forward thousands of years, and by the 1980s (arguably earlier), fur was no longer a necessity for warmth, but a symbol of wealth and "style", used to trim coats and jackets with no other use other than being simply aesthetically. What to do in Paris

What to do in Paris Actress Audrey Hepburn once said “Paris is always a good idea”, and she was not wrong! Paris is one of my favourite cities and this list will tell you all of my favourite things to do when you're in the city of light! 1. A trip up the The Eiffel Tower This is a complete must, it is to Paris what the Empire State is to New York. An icon of design and engineering it was originally created for the entrance to the 1889 World Fair and was never taken down afterwards! The views from all levels are stunning, and give an incredible look at the city from above. You can pinpoint all of the iconic sights from the top, and if you're lucky, you may see a proposal or two, as hundreds of people propose every week on the iconic structure. 2.A snack at the Cafe Marly Okay, this one is not that budget friendly (I learned this the hard way) but it is so worth it for the stunning views across the Musee de Louvre, and I ordered the cheapest thing on the menu

Milan/ Paris Fashion Week Highlights

Milan/Paris Fashion Week Highlights I feel like Milan can sometimes be sucked in between London and Paris, perhaps because the stamina of fashion month is beginning to drag, and the adrenaline is dwindling...but this season, that definitely didn't happen. Designers wowed audiences with bold, striking colour use, a playful attitude and inquisitive welcome to Milan.  Let's begin with Dolce and Gabanna , their collections are always so fun and combine classic, vintage shapes with bright, modern colours for a really visualy engaging show. I love their use of silk printed tailoring, combined with a mini crown, I mean THAT is runway done right, not too unwearable but at the same time a bit nutty! As always, we saw D&G's classic prints where they take relatable subjects, like a can of beans and fling them into high fashion. This season it was combined with lettering, which, being a lover of language, I really like! Lettering looks effortless, but still says "I do f

New York/ London Fashion Week Highlights

New York/ London Fashion Week Highlights Hello Everyone!, hope your doing great:)!! Today's post is all about Fashion Week, more specifically my favourite shows from New York and London Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer'18 Season, although not invited, due to the wonders of modern technology I am able to view the collections hours after they finish to give you all the deets! Lets start with New York Fashion Week, because it had a real appreciation for classic Spring/Summer looks and colours with the use of sheer fabrics, pastels colours and oversized shapes, this idea was executed seamlessly in the show for Michael Kors Collection where he took us, almost literally to the beach to give his collection the right backdrop and to make use of these fabulous colours and shapes to be in a more fitting setting, when they hit the runway. I particularly loved his breadth of colour as we were taken on a rainbow-like tour of the spectrum, but still retaining his very classic nautic
